Why Multi-Pocket

Mechanical - How many Pockets are necessary?

Different Applications of Multi-Pocket Sorters

The number of pockets in a banknote counter determines what tasks it can accomplish and how efficiently it works. Understanding the differences is key to making the right purchase decision.

1

1 Pocket

A 1-pocket machine can detect unwanted banknotes. When it detects one, however, the machine stops and the unwanted note must be removed by hand — significantly reducing work efficiency. For this reason, 1-pocket machines are not used for sorting; they are limited to counting. Even for counting, a 1-pocket machine has lower productivity because any counterfeit or unwanted banknote causes the machine to stop.

2

2 Pocket

A 2-pocket machine can keep counting without interruption because it sends damaged or unwanted banknotes to the reject pocket.

2-pocket sorting configurations

Many different configurations are available.

Single denomination sorting
Single Denomination

Face sorting

Orientation sorting

See MIB-9 (1+1 value counter) and MIB-11 (1+1 fitness sorter) for more details of our 2 pocket solutions.

3

3 Pocket

A 3-pocket machine can do everything a 2-pocket machine can. With the additional stacker pocket, it can separate banknotes into 2 categories at a time.

With the additional stacker pocket, non-stop value counting becomes possible.

Fitness Sorting can be done more quickly.

5

5 Pocket

A 5-pocket machine can do everything a 3-pocket machine can. With the additional pockets, it can separate banknotes into 4 categories at a time.

Up to 4 denominations can be separated in a single pass, and up to 8 denominations can be separated in two passes.

Denomination sorting at a time

Face/Orientation Sorting can be completed in a single pass.

4-direction face/orientation sorting

Non-stop Fitness Sorting is possible.
